About The Law Firm of Sexton & Vallandingham, PLLC
Robert F. Sexton is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Sexton completed his undergraduate work at the University of Virginia, before receiving a Master’s Degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mr. Sexton went on to study law and receive his juris doctor at the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. Mr. Sexton served as staff attorney for the Department of Public Advocacy (Public Defenders Office) in Somerset, Kentucky for eight years, practicing exclusively in the area of criminal law. In 1999, he moved to Owensboro and was promoted the Central District Manager of the Department of Public Advocacy. After retiring from the DPA in 2009, Mr. Sexton moved into private practice where he practices primarily in the fields of criminal law, family law, civil litigation and real estate.
Thomas L. Vallandingham was born and raised in Owensboro, Kentucky. He is a 2005 graduate of Owensboro High School. Mr. Vallandingham earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University in 2009 before attending the University of Kentucky, College of Law where he earned his juris doctor in 2012. Mr. Vallandingham spent time as an extern in Fayette Circuit Court, Division 9 as well as the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Kentucky, Appellate Division. Prior to going into private practice in 2015, Mr. Vallandingham spent three years as staff attorney for Kentucky’s 38th Judicial Circuit, Family Court. Mr. Vallandingham now primarily focuses on criminal law, all areas of family law and adoptions, and appellate practice.
